Rhythm & Roots presents: Return of the Jug Band with Jim Kweskin and Geoff Muldaur
Jim Kweskin and Geoff Muldaur were founding members of the nationally popular ‘60s group, the Jim Kweskin Jug Band, the first of the jug bands formed in the 60s folk revival. They played all the major festivals and the psychedelic ballrooms of San Francisco with Big Brother and the Holding Company and the Doors. Jerry Garcia’s first band (Mother McCree’s Uptown Jug Champions, a forerunner to The Grateful Dead), was formed after hearing the Kweskin Band’s first album
After many years apart, Jim and Geoff played together in 2006 and had so much fun they decided to do select dates as a duo. Jim has honed his dazzling guitar skills and developed new arrangements of American folk and jazz material. Geoff Muldaur has recorded with Bonnie Raitt, Eric Von Schmidt and Jerry Garcia. During the 80s he composed scores for film and television, winning an Emmy Award. Geoff returned to full-time performing in the late nineties with his much-heralded album, “The Secret Handshake” Since then he has traveled the world, playing his guitar and singing his heart out.
When it comes to acoustic folk, blues, and ragtime, Jim Kweskin and Geoff Muldaur are unparalleled exponents of the best aspects of American music.

Rhythm & Roots presents: Ruthie Foster Band with Eric Bibb
Ruthie Foster if one of America's finest soul-blues artists." -Blues Revue
“Eric Bibb has an elegant, earthy feel for blues, folk and gospel.” - Billboard
Ruthie Foster's voice has been compared to Aretha Franklin, Tina Turner and Joan Armatrading. The Austin Chronicle wrote, "Foster’s deeply soulful vocals dip into gospel with R&B panache. When she sings a cappella, the heavens part.”
Gospel-infused bluesman Eric Bibb has been a Tucson favorite for nearly ten years. His velvety voice wraps around the listener like a flannel blanket. Often compared to Keb Mo’ and Taj Mahal, Bibb’s 16 albums firmly establish him as a leading voice of acoustic blues.
